Solana DePIN revenue hits a new high, with strong rise in multiple fields.
Solana DePIN track revenue hits a new high, with multiple projects performing brilliantly
The Solana ecosystem's DePIN sector achieved its best performance of the year in April. The total revenue for the month reached $458,000, a year-on-year increase of 33%, setting a new high for the year. This achievement is primarily attributed to the steady growth of several key projects, including decentralized wireless networks, distributed rendering platforms, crowdsourced mapping services, and mobile communication networks.
Although overall revenue has grown significantly, the number of active contributors has slightly decreased. The total number of active contributors for major DePIN projects remains at around 87,000. Notably, small DePIN protocols performed exceptionally well in April, with some projects seeing contributor numbers grow by over 100%. In contrast, the contributor growth for larger protocols has been relatively steady.
Here is an overview of the performance of some major DePIN projects:
Wireless Network and Mobile Communication Projects
A DePIN project exclusive to the Indian market has deployed Wi-Fi hotspots across India in collaboration with local cable operators. From March to April, its cumulative data consumption doubled to 8000 TB, and device sales increased by 29%.
After a certain mobile virtual network operator project opened free mobile plans, the number of new subscribers surged by 125%, reaching 36,000. Monthly revenue increased by 34%, setting a new high of $250,000, with data offloading accounting for as much as 79%. The project's average daily offloaded subscription volume and offloaded data volume grew by 65% and 32% respectively, both hitting historical highs.
Another decentralized mobile network project has maintained a growth trend in data offloading for 8 consecutive months. In April, the average daily offloading volume increased by 16%, and the number of active contributors rose by 6%, reaching a historic high of 732 people.
A certain WiFi sharing network project added 535,000 nodes and 87,000 new users in April, bringing the total number of nodes close to 4 million and the number of users near 3 million. Although the monthly user sign-in volume dropped by 19%, the cumulative sign-in times exceeded 300 million, indicating that user stickiness remains strong.
Computing Resource Sharing Project
A project that utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games currently covers 74 GPU models, providing 33.12 TB of storage and 15.27 Gbps throughput. It has achieved 4,500 interactive game live streams in two months, totaling 50,000 hours.
A certain DePIN aggregation platform's online duration in April doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining to contribute to the network.
A decentralized GPU computing network project saw a slight increase in the amount of work completed and contributor rewards in April, with GPU nodes remaining stable. The newly launched AI collaboration project allows AI agents to operate on its infrastructure, which is expected to drive job growth.
Another protocol for sharing device computing power to complete AI tasks has increased the April dollar reward to $11,800, a month-on-month increase of 27%, while the number of active wallets remains stable.
Data Collection and Map Services Project
A certain project provides data sources for AI training, data scraping, and proxy services through the idle bandwidth of user devices. The data collection volume in April reached a historic high of 34.5 million GB.
Since November of last year, an aviation data collection project has seen the number of flights tracked online increase to 150,000, with daily data points collected rising to 9 billion, an increase of 7% and 29%, respectively; the number of contributing sites has also increased by 43%, reaching 3,000.
A certain decentralized mapping network project maintained stable mapping mileage in April, and its AI-driven platform for fleet management was officially launched that month. Since February, the number of active map contributors for this project has remained stable at around 5,000.
Another street view data collection project maintained stability in April, with user-driven mileage remaining at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Energy and Environmental Monitoring Project
A decentralized virtual power plant project saw a 30% increase in electricity output in April. The newly launched smart energy efficiency analysis devices received 500 pre-orders, and the growth momentum is expected to continue.
A global environmental monitoring network project recorded a cumulative user ecological data check-in of over 2 million times in April, an increase of 12%; the total number of platform users has risen to 45,000, a year-on-year growth of 2%.
Overall, the Solana DePIN ecosystem showed strong growth momentum in April, with projects in various sub-sectors making good progress. With the emergence of more innovative applications and the expansion of the user base, this field is expected to continue its growth trajectory in the future.
