Zilliqa plans to launch Zilliqa 2.0 MainnetAgate in Q1 2025
PANews reported on December 18th that the public chain Zilliqa announced on its official blog that its prototype Mainnet Aventurine is now live, paving the way for the upcoming Zilliqa 2.0 Mainnet Agate to be launched in the first quarter of 2025. The transition to Zilliqa 2.0 Mainnet is not just another network upgrade, but a complete migration to a brand new protocol. The new Zilliqa 2.0 network utilizes a different architecture and Proof of Stake Consensus Mechanism, migrating transaction history from the old Zilliqa network to the new protocol. To ensure a smooth transition, the prototype Mainnet stage has been extended to allow developers, validators, and stakeholders time to adapt and prepare for the shift to Zilliqa 2.0 Mainnet. The full Mainnet launch will officially switch the current Zilliqa Mainnet to Zilliqa 2.0, requiring stakeholders to reallocate their stake to their chosen validators. The extended Aventurine prototype Mainnet stage provides an opportunity for everyone (developers, validators, and stakeholders) to participate, enhance Zilliqa Decentralization, test the system, and provide feedback.
