Thanksgiving - Care For The Disadvantaged: Gate Charity's Touching Community Outreach in Taipei
Gate Charity, the global non-profit philanthropic organization of Gate Group, recently hosted a heartwarming event on 20 November 2023, to support people with physical and mental disabilities. The event, held from 13:00 to 15:30, aimed to embody the spirit of love, sharing, and gratitude on Thanksgiving Day.
The event’s core theme was “Care for the Disadvantaged,” with a mission to inspire compassion and raise awareness about the challenges faced by disadvantaged groups. Gate Group volunteers, along with talented artists, came together to bring joy and warmth to the New Life Social Welfare Organisation.
Activities at the event included Thanksgiving-themed art creation. Partner artists, including Yu-Ting TENG (Selfish Illustration), designed line drawings as painting templates. These artists guided disabled individuals from the New Life Social Welfare Organisation in creating their own artworks with the same theme.
Moreover, the artworks created by collaborating artists were transformed into NFTs for charity purposes. All proceeds from the NFT purposes will be donated to the New Life Social Welfare Organisation, supporting their mission to assist disadvantaged families.
The New Life Social Welfare Organisation, Gate Charity’s collaborating unit, has been dedicated to the education and welfare of people with disabilities for several years. Their commitment to “cherishing blessings, being grateful, and fulfilling love” aligns perfectly with the spirit of Thanksgiving.
