German Chancellor: EU-US tariff negotiations enter the final stage

On July 19, German Chancellor Merz stated in Berlin on the 18th that the German economy has turned around from recession and is moving towards recovery. He also mentioned that the tariff negotiations between the EU and the US have entered the final stage. Both sides are still discussing whether to adopt differentiated policies for specific industries. He supports the efforts of the European Commission to reach an agreement, "The lower the tariffs, the better it is for both sides; ultimately, tariffs harm everyone." He also stated that the tax and spending policies of the US have put immense pressure on its own budget, which may lead to severe fiscal deficits. ( Jin10 )
