On May 14, The Block reported that Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Commissioner Summer Mersinger will resign to become the CEO of the Blockchain Association, which is the main lobbying group for the encryption industry in Washington. The Blockchain Association announced on Wednesday that Summer Mersinger will take office as CEO on June 2, with May 30 being her last day at the CFTC. It is reported that Summer Mersinger was nominated by former President Biden to serve as a Republican commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and was sworn in in March 2022.
