Litecoin Halving Successfully Concludes, Block Rewards Slashed to 6.25 LTC per Block.
The much-anticipated Litecoin halving event has successfully taken place, reducing block rewards to 6.25 Litecoin per block. Litecoin's blockchain completed the halving process automatically at block 2,520,000 on Aug. 2. Founder Charlie Lee discussed the countdown timer discrepancies, favoring the accuracy of the NiceHash timer. Meanwhile, LTC prices have been relatively stable around $92 after peaking at $110 in early July. Currently, Litecoin ranks as the 12th largest cryptocurrency with a market capitalization of $6.8 billion and daily trading volume of approximately $1.14 billion.
