Whale Duel: $391 million 40x leverage go long BTC VS $173 million shorting ETH
Recently, the Crypto Assets market has experienced significant Fluctuation, seemingly at a critical point of directional choice. In this context, some large traders have adopted high-risk Margin Trading strategies on a certain derivatives trading platform, betting on the market trend they favor.
A trader with the alias JamesWynnReal opened a long position with an astonishing 40x Margin Trading, involving 3,788.7 Bitcoin, with a total value of approximately $391 million. The opening price of this position was $103,083, and if the price of Bitcoin drops to $96,474, it will face the risk of forced liquidation.
At the same time, two other large holders chose to short Ethereum. One trader with an address starting with 0xcddf shorted 41,851 Ethereum with 25x Margin Trading, with a position value of approximately $103 million. The opening price for this position was $2,514, and if the Ethereum price rises to $2,525, it will trigger a liquidation.
Another trader with an address starting with 0x2258 shorted 28,248 Ethereum with 20x Margin Trading, with a position value of approximately $70 million. The opening price of this trade was $2,561, and the liquidation price was $2,694.
These large margin trading activities reflect the current divergence among market participants regarding future trends. Some investors are optimistic about Bitcoin, while others hold a pessimistic view on Ethereum. Such massive and highly leveraged positions also highlight the high-risk characteristics of the Crypto Assets market, and investors should proceed with caution and fully assess the risks.
