The boom of TG Bot opens the door to intelligent interaction in Web3.
The Surge of TG Bots: Intentional Trading is Opening the Door to Intelligent Interactions in Web3
Abstract
( Understanding Intent: Top-down Anoma and Bottom-up TG Bot
) Deep Intent: AI is the new UI: Complex Commands VS Simple Intent
(3) Navigation Intent: Evolution of the Intent Concept, Interaction Paradigms, Current Status, Trends
( Guidance Intent: Challenges and Prospects of Intelligent Web3 Interaction
In June, the Paradigm official website published an article titled "Intent-Based Architectures and Their Risks," which introduced the concept of Intent) to the public for the first time. Related intent protocols and infrastructure are rapidly developing and became a hot topic in the crypto world at the ETHCC conference in July.
Intent is not a new concept. As Mindao, the founder of DForce, stated: the trend in the crypto space has always been to abstract and automate operations to the extreme. From aggregators, centralized exchanges, contract wallets, to cross-chain DeFi, all are doing this work, along with Chainlink and the recent automated middleware, as well as the recent Telegram bot.
Intentions also bring new changes. In the past, product interaction was at the core, but in the AGI era, human-computer interaction is central. AI/LLM( large language models) contain more potential to enhance Crypto interaction.
01, Top-Down Anoma and Bottom-Up Unibot
In the past six months, agreements, projects, and infrastructures related to intentions have been booming one after another. Here, I do not intend to explain the concepts in a rote manner, but rather to present two excellent examples to provide a glimpse.
Among the many projects related to intent, the most prominent is the Anoma Foundation, which completed its third round of financing of $25 million at the end of May 2023. In the context of severe homogenization in Layer 1, the Anoma Foundation, with intent-centric (, is centered around intent ) architecture, the Anoma ( Dapp full-stack architecture ), and the Namada ( privacy Layer 1), has garnered a total of $57.8 million in support from investment institutions across three rounds, ranking 7th among Layer 1/Layer 2 financing amounts that have yet to issue tokens.
Reflecting on Anoma's public speech at EthCC, founder Adrian Brink stated that the magic of Anoma lies in: all interactions begin with intent, where users express their intent through the Balck-box Architecture ( Anoma black box architecture, also known as Magic Happens ) processing, which implements the core transaction process based on intent-driven interactions:

Behind the brand new interaction form, the Anoma team has identified the underlying pain points of blockchain protocols and reviewed how the architectural limitations of the first generation of Bitcoin's scriptable settlements and the second generation of Ethereum's programmable settlements have led to current application protocols having at least one Web2 component, which cannot achieve counterparty discovery and resolution. The team stated that the intent-centric Anoma architecture is the third generation Dapp architecture in the evolution of blockchain protocols, allowing users to define their desired outcome states and achieve efficient and customizable privacy transactions at the intent level. The intent-centric Dapp architecture will usher in a new era.
Anoma, with high financing and a new technological architecture, is currently being built by a multidisciplinary team of 37 members from the Heliax development team. Although the Heliax development team has made slow progress over the past 2 years, a complete innovative ecosystem has been established.
Although many institutions such as CMCC Global, Electric Capital, and Delphi Digital are enthusiastically endorsing Anoma and expressing that its intention-centric architecture has unlimited potential, the current top-down Anoma has only laid a good technical foundation and has yet to see exciting real-world applications; on the other hand, the TG Bot has opened up the imaginative potential for real-world implementation of intent segmentation scenarios using on-chain automated trading tools.
Unibot is a Telegram-based trading bot ) TG Bot ( that allows users to conduct automated DEX trading through Telegram, offering features such as sniper buying, copy trading, DEX limit orders, privacy, and anti-MEV. Unibot replaces the cumbersome interactions of Uniswap based on Intent, providing a convenient DeFi interaction experience. Unibot has also spawned a batch of TG Bot clones, and the total market value of the current TG Bot sector is approaching 200 million USD.
Top-down Anoma is innovation, while bottom-up TG Bot is transformation; Anoma starts from an intent-based underlying architecture, but the team's progress is slow; although TG Bot provides users with a new on-chain interactive interface, it is not intelligent enough and has many security risks.
The two paths that lead to the same goal - simplifying user interaction experience and introducing a new programmable, customizable user interaction interface - User Intent Layer ), which allows users to bypass complex on-chain interactions and define transaction status based on user intent.
02, AI is the new UI: Command Interaction vs Intent Interaction
The two use cases above have provided a basic understanding of intent. Next, it's time to explore the changes behind the intent - the changes in user interaction interfaces brought about by AI in the underlying world of cryptocurrency.
The AI paradigm is introducing a third user interface paradigm in the history of computing, shifting towards a new interaction mechanism where users tell the computer what they want rather than how to do it.
Every revolution in interaction models throughout history has led to entirely new business models. LLM-based generative AI has brought disruptive changes to human-computer interaction, directly transforming the original interaction with various software UIs into interaction through the ChatGPT chat window, which is an unprecedented interactive experience. LLM+crypto introduces a new proposition based on intent interaction in the crypto world, and LLM has the potential to make blockchain interactions smarter by discovering and describing user intentions.
03, The Evolution of the Concept of Intent, Interaction Paradigms, Current Status, Trends
After gaining a deep understanding of the AI-driven trend behind intent, we further explore the evolution of the concept of intent. Intent is not a new concept; it has existed since the Web2 era. With the rise of search engines like Google, users can input their intent, and the search engines provide relevant search results to satisfy that intent.
With the rise of e-commerce platforms such as Amazon and eBay, there has been a significant shift in intent-based architecture, allowing users to express their intent to purchase products while the platform takes care of logistics. In early 2017, Gartner released a report titled "Innovation Insight: Intent-Based Networking Systems" that formally introduced the concept of Intent-based Networking(. The key to intent-based networking is to present users with an interface where they only need to express what they want, and the platform will handle the business details.
Intent-based networking is the trend of network automation and intelligence in the Web2 era. Gartner Research Vice President Andrew Lerner pointed out in 2017 that intent-based networking would be the next milestone in the field of networking.
The evolution from Web2 to Web3, the concept of intent in Web3 is actually not clear, but there are some common understandings:
In real use cases of intent-based transactions in Web3, users create intents off-chain, outsourcing them to the Solver) parser(, which encapsulates the complexity of blockchain interactions for the parser while allowing users to retain full control over the process on-chain, thus lowering the barrier to on-chain interactions.
The intent also brings the concept of LLM architecture - intent centric - an architecture centered around user intent. Currently, the crypto protocols and infrastructure related to intent centric are embedded in the interaction layer between users and Crypto, leveraging LLM to provide a better on-chain interaction experience.
LLM+Crypto brings a new paradigm of human-computer interaction, allowing users' intentions to be directly converted into smart contract calls. Users only need to express their intentions as they would with Apple's Siri, while robots/AI agents/third-party parsers help complete complex on-chain operations. The future of intent-based Web3 interactions is intelligent and has the potential to greatly reduce the complexity of user on-chain interactions.

AI is the new UI, and more and more Web3 projects are exploring the magic of intent. Whether it’s intent-based Dapps or intent-based underlying architectures, they all unleash the potential of intent from different angles. We attempt to organize this rapidly evolving field and categorize it into four main categories from an interaction perspective, while tracking the latest status and trends:
Infrastructure: ) intent-centric intent architecture layer (
Supporting facilities: ) related to intentions and supporting infrastructure related to account abstraction wallets (.
Enterprise applications: ) integrated Dapp intention infrastructure, API, modular intention layer, domain-specific parsers (
Consumer applications: ) intelligent interfaces for user interaction such as Wallets, Dex, Web3 AI Agents, intelligent search engines (

The intent-based architecture, supporting facilities, and enterprise-level applications attempt to solve the underlying challenges of achieving intent, but infrastructure cannot be built overnight. The trend of intent consumer application layers is what truly excites people, as the evolution of interaction gateways like wallets and DEXs demonstrates the potential for intelligent interaction.
Wallet Intelligence: ERC-4337 introduces a new )UserOps( user intent layer, where users express their intentions, and the packager )Bundler( converts these intentions into executable signed transactions. In recent months, the number of ERC4337 users has increased significantly, with ZeroDev, Biconomy, and Safe modular smart accounts being the most motivated to promote AA +intent, which has the potential to foster AA +intent in the future.
