On February 16, local time, Jordan's Crown Prince Hussein visited Egypt and met with Egyptian President Sisi. During the meeting, the two sides discussed their bilateral relations and exchanged views on deepening cooperation in various fields. In addition, they also discussed the regional situation, especially the Palestinian issue. Hussein and Sisi reiterated their strong support for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip and opposition to the displacement of the Palestinian people. They emphasized the need to ensure the consolidation of the ceasefire in Gaza and increase humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza. Both sides agreed on the necessity to find a political horizon that achieves a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution, establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital and based on the borders of June 4, 1967.
