On February 16, Jinshi Data reported that the Lebanese government held an emergency meeting on the 15th to discuss the attack on the UN peacekeeping convoy. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun promised to severely punish the attackers. Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmed Hajar chaired the meeting in the morning and said he had visited two injured UN Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) personnel at the hospital, emphasizing that the Lebanese government opposes the attack. He told reporters after the meeting that the military intelligence department had arrested more than 25 people, and another person was arrested by the security department. However, being arrested does not mean that the suspect was involved in the attack, and the investigation will determine who is responsible.
