HSBC: Recent rise in US bond yields is seen as a key market development

On January 2nd, Jinshi Data reported that the strong rise in US Treasury yields and the subsequent appreciation of the US dollar were the most important market dynamics in the past few weeks. These gains were driven by the unexpected positive signs of US economic activity and the rise in US inflation, as well as the Fed's rate cut in December, which led to a significant adjustment in expectations for US interest rates. Long-term US Treasury bonds are the main victims.
