Japan's first-half birthrate hits a new low
Jinshi data news on September 3rd, according to the Nikkei Chinese website reported on September 2nd, the population dynamics statistics for January to June released by the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare on August 30 (including the flash value of foreigners) showed that the number of births was 350,074, a year-on-year decrease of 5.7%. This is the lowest record after 1969 with comparable data in the first half of the year for three consecutive years, which is lower than 400,000. The number of births in the whole year of 2024 may also fall below 700,000 for the first time.
