Golden Finance reports that the on-chain analysis company Global Ledger has released a report indicating that there were 119 encryption attack incidents in the first half of 2025, with a total amount involved reaching 3.01 billion USD, surpassing the total amount for the entire year of 2024. The report reveals that the speed at which hackers launder money has significantly accelerated, with nearly 70% of funds being transferred before the attack was made public, and in nearly 23% of cases, money laundering was completed before the incident was disclosed, taking as little as 3 minutes. The report states that only 4.2% of the stolen funds could be recovered; among them, 15.1% circulated through Centralized Exchanges (CEX), which often have only a 10-15 minute blockage time. CEX has become the biggest target for attacks, accounting for as much as 54.26%.
