PANews, July 14 - OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the company has once again postponed the release of its open model originally scheduled for this week, extending the latency indefinitely for further safety testing. Altman stated, "Once the model weights are released, they cannot be recalled. We want to ensure that every aspect is done to the best of our ability." It is reported that this model will allow developers to download and run it locally for free, marking OpenAI's first open model launch in recent years. Previous reports indicated that this model's reasoning capabilities are comparable to OpenAI's series o models, aiming to be the best in its class.
