Analysis: The number of Bitcoins purchased by listed companies for three consecutive quarters exceeds that of ETFs.
Odaily News Data provider Bitcoin Treasuries tracking information shows that listed companies purchased approximately 131,000 Bitcoins in the second quarter, increasing their Bitcoin balance by 18%. During the same period, Bitcoin ETF holdings increased by 8%, approximately 111,000 Bitcoins. Ecoinometrics research director Nick Marie stated, "The reasons for institutional buyers accessing Bitcoin through ETFs are not the same as those of listed companies trying to accumulate Bitcoin to ultimately increase shareholder value." However, currently, Bitcoin ETFs remain the largest holders of Bitcoin, holding over 1.4 million Bitcoins, accounting for about 6.8% of the fixed supply limit of 21 million, while listed companies hold approximately 855,000 Bitcoins, accounting for about 4%.
