The French Parliament rejected the proposal to use surplus energy for Bitcoin mining.

According to Gate News bot, as reported by Bitcoin com, the French National Assembly has decided not to discuss the potential use of Bitcoin mining as a redundant energy source. The recently proposed amendment was rejected for procedural reasons, which means that the intentions of this measure have not been fully discussed.

The French National Assembly recently reviewed a proposal that would introduce Bitcoin mining as a national activity, suggesting the possibility of using France's surplus energy resources for Bitcoin mining as a national initiative.

The proposal submitted to the parliament earlier this month did not suggest directly allocating excess energy resources to Bitcoin, but only studied the possibility of doing so.

The proposal for the amendment to simplify the current regulatory measures in the economic energy sector evaluates "the conditions for conducting Bitcoin mining activities in France, using it as a tool for utilizing surplus electricity production, stabilizing the grid, and optimizing the operation of nuclear power plants."

However, the current proposal has been rejected by the parliament and declared "inadmissible under Article 98 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly." However, the reasons for the rejection of the proposal remain unclear, as Article 98 is very broad in scope and subject to multiple interpretations.

Local media reported that, like many proposals that have been submitted, this proposal was rejected possibly because it was deemed to contain a provision that was not directly related to the subject of the bill.

The objections are only aimed at the form of the proposal, in order to present more direct amendments in the future, with the aim of introducing the same changes related to Bitcoin.

However, local analysts have indicated that this situation seems unlikely to occur in the short term, as Bitcoin mining is still regarded as an environmental disaster in France.
