On May 15, Jin10 reported that High Frequency Economics analyst Carl Weinberg stated that another modest week of initial jobless claims has provided an encouraging outlook for the labor market. "There is nothing to worry about. By historical standards, the number of claims is still low and generally flat overall." He pointed out that from the third quarter of 2024 to the first quarter of 2025, the average weekly jobless claims are actually slowing down on a month-to-month basis, and noted that the latest number of jobless claims is 229,000, which is basically in line with recent data.
